Raiders of the North Sea is set in the Viking era. Players aim to impress the chieftain by raiding unsuspecting settlements. Earn glory even in the hands of the Valkyries! Assemble a crew, gather supplies, and journey north to plunder settlements, acquiring gold, iron, and livestock. Gather your warriors; it's time to raid!

Impress the chieftain by having the most Victory Points (VP) at the end. VP are earned by raiding settlements, seizing loot, and offering sacrifices to the chieftain. The game ends when only 1 plunder spot at the forts remains, no Valkyries are left on the board, or all sacrifices have been made.

Raiders of the North Sea can end in three ways: Only one set of loot is available in one of the forts (five of the six plunder spots are raided). Or, the sacrifice tile stack is empty. Or, there are no Valkyries left on the board. Once any of these conditions is met, the player taking their turn finishes it as usual. Then, each player has one final turn before the game ends, including the player who triggered any of the end conditions.
